CALLING ALL FLY-FISHERS. By Alan D'Egville.

A CREEL OF WILLOW. By W.H. Canaway. Medlar Press paperback edition.

(1957) 2005 2nd edition. Small 8vo paperback (138 x 193mm). Pp196. B/w illustration, maps. Volume IV of the Medlar Classics series.

This is the delightful fictionalised story of the author's fishing on a Midland trout stream. Knowing Cannock Chase as a child, I quickly recognised Canaway's "Withy" as the river Blythe below Blithfield and "The March" as the Chase. This is the first Medlar Angling Classics edition. Only a few copies were produced in paperback before the publishers relaunched the series in a higher quality cloth binding with a dust-wrapper. Both of the Medlar paperback and hardback editions were issued with the same ISBN - 1899600426.
