A FLY FISHER'S LIFE. By Charles Ritz. Revised and enarged edition prepared in collaboration with John Piper. 1972 3rd edition.
(1959) 1972 3rd edition. 4to (181 x 253mm). Ppx,280. B/w photographs, illustrations. Foreword by Ernest Hemingway, Introduction by Arnold Gingrich. Yellow cloth with black title-label on spine.
One of the great angling books of the twentieth century. Much of the book is on technique, especially Ritz's famous "High speed - high line" method of casting. His reminiscences of fishing, especially in Europe, make wonderful reading. I note that in the chapters on specific fish, the grayling is the first on his list, and the salmon last.
