A FLY FISHER'S LIFE. By Charles Ritz. Revised and enarged edition prepared in collaboration with John Piper. 1977 3rd edition reprint.
(1959) 1977 3rd edition reprint. 4to (181 x 253mm). Ppx,280. B/w photographs, illustrations. Foreword by Ernest Hemingway, introduction by Arnold Gingrich. Yellow cloth, spine titled in gilt to black label.
One of the great angling books of the twentieth century. Much of the book is on technique, especially Ritz's famous "High speed - high line" method of casting. His reminiscences of fishing, especially in Europe, make wonderful reading. I note that in the chapters on specific fish, the grayling is the first on his list, and the salmon last.
