A FLY FISHER'S LIFE. By Charles Ritz. Second English Edition, 1965.
(1959) 1965 2nd English edition. 4to (181 x 253mm). Ppviii,230. B/w photographs, illustrations. Yellow cloth with black title-label on spine.
Second edition with a new Introduction by Dermot Wilson. One of the great angling books of the twentieth century. Much of the book is on technique, especially Ritz's famous "High speed - high line" method of casting. His reminiscences of fishing, especially in Europe, make wonderful reading. I note that in the chapters on specific fish, the grayling is the first on his list, and the salmon last.
