"Alfred Ronalds (1802-1860) is remembered today for 'The Fly-Fisher's Entomology', which was first published in 1836 in London, and as a pioneer of the Australian state of Victoria. After his move to Australia he made the first medal struck in the colonies, engraved the town seal for Geelong, and supported the establishment of Ballarat in the goldfields, including the township's first garden nursery.
