"The courageous Bill Badger and his friend Izzybizzy, the hedgehog, decide on a holiday in their famous barge, the Wandering Wind. They set off to see the famous Plynnlynn Aqueduct which carries the canal high across a valley. No one expected any more trouble from Big Ginger and his pirate gang, but somehow these villains have managed to acquire a secret weapon which is a great danger to all law-abiding canal travellers." One of the few accounts in children's literature of u-boat warfare on the Welsh canals. A minor classic. The second edition, published in 1983 by Methuen Children's Books, was re-titled Bill Badger and the Secret Weapon.
