This is a detailed and useful history of mouse traps and their manufacturers in the United Kingdom. Many good photographs are included, as are patent illustrations and contemporary advertisements. The author aims to be comprehensive and includes makes and types only known from advertisements. The book also traces the history of imitations and copyright infringements, showing imitations alongside the originals. The book comes right up to date and deals with the traps currently on the market, chiefly made in China, and shows that the bulk of new ideas in mousetraps have their origin in the USA. A useful bibliography is appended.This is interesting reading, and essential reading for any would-be manufacturer who thinks that they have come up with an original and better mousetrap.
