BRITISH RURAL SPORTS: Comprising shooting, hunting, coursing, fishing, hawking, racing, boating and pedestrianism, with all rural games and amusements. By Stonehenge. Fifteenth edition, profusely illustrated. Re-edited with numerous additions.

(1855) ND (1881) 15th edition. 8vo (138 x 218mm). Ppx,966. B/w plates and text illustrations, advertisements to end-papers. Quarter red calf over pale red pebbled cloth, spine titled in gilt, gilt image of spaniel carrying pheasant to upper board, marbled edges.

Originally titled "Manual of British Rural Sports." Later editions, simply "British Rural Sports." Fifteenth edition, "Re-edited with numerous additions by 'The Field' staff." Walsh, for many years editor of The Field, wrote widely on sporting dogs, sporting guns, and the chase. I doubt if he found time for fishing.
