Quarter-bound in green leather over olive cloth boards, with tipped-on illustration, spine and upper board titled in gilt and black, patterned hand-made end-papers. This edition was limited to 1497 numbered copies of which 137 were bound in leather, the remaining copies bound in cloth.

Chris Yates' modern classic; one of the most collectible of modern angling books. A record of the author's early days right through to his capture of the record carp from Redmire Pool. "I have hardly changed anything in this edition, though, as I said, it might have benefitted from a few lost fish. Perversely, all I've really done is to actually add more carp. The additional chapter (The Way Home) was one that continued the events recounted in The Bell at Byton (chapter XII), but which I didn't include in the original book because I felt it lessened the sublime anti-climax of the story.
