This first edition is identifiable because; 1. It was printed by St Edmundsbury Press and this is stated on the reverse of the title-page. This is not present in the 2007 reissue. 2. The first edition's front dust-wrapper flap begins, "In June 1985 Brian Plummer experienced a severe coronary." The rear dust-wrapper flap begins, "Brian Plummer is well-known to all followers of field sports." These texts are transposed in the 2007 reissue.
