Reminiscences of fifty years fishing the Eden and Eamont valleys in which Nelson writes of his lifetime of fishing and his continuing love for the Eden and its surrounding landscape. Arthur Ransome, writing appreciatively of Nelson, maintained, "It is one of the few modern fishing books certain of its longevity." This edition includes an introductory biographical essay by John Austin, an appreciation of the River Eden by Malcolm Greenhalgh, and Ransome's essay, "In Memoriam: William Nelson," first published in Rod and Line. Although a limitation of 500 copies is stated, only 60 copies were produced in this binding, the remaining 440 copies being issued in a new cloth binding and dust-wrapper in 2014.
