FLY FISHING IN NEW ZEALAND. A NEW EDITION. By George Ferris.
(1954) 1972 2nd edition. 8vo (145 x 223mm). Ppx,116. Colour and b/w plates of flies, photographs, illustrations. Green boards, spine titled in gilt.
A revised and updated edition of George Ferris' classic work on fly fishing in New Zealand. A great deal on dry fly fishing, in both rivers and lakes, including the use of the dry fly at night. Two good chapters on entomology (certainly of use to the visiting angler) and a couple of small chapters on nymphs and wet flies. This edition has had the section on individual trout waters removed entirely presumably as it was felt they were no longer up-to-date. The foreword is by the Hon. H.J. Walker, Minister of Tourism.
