FOWLER'S MOON. By Nigel Thornycroft.

(1955) 2010 new edition. Pp167,ill. B/w illustrations by Corona Thornycroft, b/w photographs. Quarter bound in leather and pictorial brown buckram.

'Fowler's Moon' is a delightful and nostalgic book on wildfowling written (and smuggled out) by Nigel Thornycroft while in a P.O.W. camp, using an illegal pencil and scraps of toilet paper. 'Fowler's Moon' was originally published in 1955 and established Nigel as an icon of English coastal wildfolwers. It has never been reprinted and is now highly collectable. This handsome leather-backed volume is available singly, or as a two-volumeset in a cloth slip-case together with 'Nigel and Corona: a Story of Adventure, Sport, Wilderness and War from England to Africa' which narrates the Thornycrofts' post-war move to Rhodesia where they set up a tobacco farm. Either book may be bought individually for GBP 60.00 or in a less expensivepaperback edition at GBP 19.95 each or GBP 36.00 for the pair.
