A concise introduction to the biology of the UK's native white-clawed crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes) with some mention of other species. The author touches briefly on the American signal crayfish noting the experimental introductions in Sweden but clearly at the time of publication they had not yet been introduced to British waters. Chapters include - Distribution; Behaviour; Reproduction; Moulting; Regeneration and autonomy; Physical features; Catching crayfish; Keeping crayfish in captivity; Crayfish plague; Pollution; Conclusion*. "I produced it it in 1977 as a by-product of a complementary studies thesis I wrote whilst at Bath Academy of Art studying visual communication. It uses my own photographs and artwork and was self-published as a graphic design exercise. I think I produced 10 or 12 copies in all.
