Richard Gambrill is the author of Part XII Beagling in the United States and the Vernon Somerset Beagles. Gambrill was a keen hunting man who rode to hounds in the UK as well as at home in New England. He was Master of the Vernon Somerset Beagles, and sometime President of the Association of Masters of Harriers and Beagles. Gambrill was the proprietor of the Vernon Manor Estate, Peapack, Somerset County, New Jersey. In addition, a facsimile of a letter from David Wathen is laid in, explaining something of the history of writing and publishing this book. A good association copy.
