A collection of brief tackle-making and general fishing hints and tips taken from the author's weekly column, Mirror Of Angling, which appeared in the Daily Mirror newspaper. In January 1938 the Daily Mirror dispensed with the column, but permitted Marshall-Hardy to proceed with the publication of Volume Two. He had promised a series of such books. The third volume in the series, Anglers' Ideas, was based on his weekly column of the same name in the Daily Herald newspaper.
