The National Association of Audubon Societies seeks to encourage every practical method which has for its object the increase of valuable species of birds. Wild ducks thus hand-reared are fully as attractive on the table as those shot in the marshes or on the bays, and there is an unlimited demand for them in the market. It is as ethical to use for food a mallard bred on a preserve as it is to used a farm-reared chicken or pig".
