Younger's salmon fly patterns pre-date those of Scrope (1843), and represent the classic old Tweed flies. For this edition the editor has excluded "Some fresh hints". . . and the "Analysis of theTweed Fishery Act," (from the 1860 edition) but has added two new chapters: "Worms and worm-angling, by the editor;" and "Scrap, by the editor". This latter consists of notes on water insects, and short biographies of two noted Border anglers, Jock Smail and James Baillie.
