ROD-FISHING FOR SALMON ON THE WYE WITH FLY, MINNOW, PRAWN, ETC. By J. Arthur Hutton. With introductory note by R.B. Marston. First edition.

1920 1st edition. 12mo (95 x 167mm). Ppxii,156+4pp ads. B/w photographs, 4 folding plates in pocket at rear. Tan cloth spine over pink/cream paper-covered boards, spine titled in black.

The 'etc.' in the title must refer to the worm, for this is the fourth method listed in the contents, perhaps too indelicate for the cover and title-page. This salmon-fishing maestro details his various methods, learnt during long experience on the River Wye, particularly during eleven seasons at Hampton Bishop, as well as much invaluable information on river management. A very good chapter on keeping a fishing diary, together with a facsimile of a page from the author's own journal, is included.
