Martin Clarke is captor of an "outstanding list of specimen fish [including] over fifty thirty-pound-plus English carp and seven true English forties. He has fished most of the well known circuit waters and has also been successful in Romania, France and Holland". The author gives a detailed account of his exploits, with an analysis of the approach and techniques which have brought him this success. A title which quickly established itself on the serious carper's wish list, the first edition of which is now becoming increasingly difficult to find. The first edition was published without either a title-page or contents pages.
