THE COMPLEAT ANGLER OR, CONTEMPLATIVE MAN'S RECREATION. By Izaak Walton. The First Black Facsimile. Coigney 298. Third issue.
(1653) 1928 First Black Facsimile Edition (Coigney 298). 12mo (95 x 147mm). Ppxx,246. Woodcut illustrations. Full brown sheepskin leather, spine not titled, blind-rules to boards and spine, page-edges speckled pink. Issue C. The first issue had an error in the word Churcheyard at the foot of the title page. It should have been Church-yard, and was corrected in subsequent printings. This possible third issue has a heavier cream dust-wrapper, the speckling of the page-edges is in a dark brown or purple, and the card of the slipcase shows a coarser weave than other copies seen. Although dated as Coigney 298 it appears much newer.
