In 1816 Bainbridge described and illustrated in colour a calendar of natural insects of interest to the angler, and gave dressings for their artificial imitations. He paved the way for the later angler-entomologists. This Flyfisher's Classic Library edition, limited to 600 copies, has a new introduction by Tony Deacon.
