Quarter bound in brown leather over light brown cloth, raised bands and gilt titles to spine, hand-marbled end-papers, modern fly-leaf. This copy is significantly larger than is usual.
W.A. Chatto, writing in The Angler's Souvenir (1835) says that this book "ought to have been called 'The North Country Poacher'". Author unknown*. A single leaf bound in of, presumably, the original plain brown wrapper which has a book-seller's stamp (Market Place, Knaresborough) and an extensive inscription to both sides by a former owner, dated June 1866.
