THE SEALS AND THE CURRAGH: INTRODUCING THE NATURAL HISTORY OF THE GREY SEAL OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC. By R.M. Lockley.

"Continuing his renowned studies of the individual lives of marine creatures, begun with [the books] Shearwaters, and Puffins, R.M. Lockley has written this study of the breeding of the Atlantic or grey seal ...Puzzled by many aspects of its behaviour during many years of casual watching of the seals, the author decided to spend a whole breeding-season with them". Lockley took, as object of his study, a colony inhabiting a small cove beneath cliffs, which was inaccessible except by boat, and even then only just. Here is an account of a year's observations of the undisturbed home life of a Welsh seal colony.
