Diary excerpts describing seriously well-appointed shooting expeditions taking place between 1881 to 1907. Two viceroys, Curzon and Minto, put in appearances at intervals, but no actual history or current affairs is allowed to obtrude into the narrative. A section of plates to the rear presents photographs of notable elephants, including the Nepalese fighting elephants, Jung Pershad, Bijli Pershad, and one other, unnamed.
