"Between 1975 and 1977, John Pullinger produced over a hundred paintings of Malawi's trees, shrubs and climbers. when he retired in 1977 he gave these paintings to the National Fauna Preservation Society of Malawi, and they were displayed in the Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary. Through the generosity of Mbabzi Estates Limited they have now been reproduced in this book, and the Society hopes that, with the addition of short descriptions, they will help people to recognise and appreciate some of the trees of this country". This book "contains 112 full-page colour paintings of many of the most common species of Malawi's trees and climbers. With the accompanying text and sketches, the book will greatly assist the ordinary person to identify and enjoy, through new discovery, the rich variety of trees in this country".
