"This extra special copy of my book has been prepared for Colin Pitt. The flies contained in it are my own patterns, and were tied by me. The Blue-winged Grizzly is actually the original sample fly I tied before using the pattern. The Supplement in the back of the book contains the fly patterns that have come to light since the original book was published, and is unique to this copy." Label in the fly-volume, signed by the author. I believe the figure of 18 copies refers to the whole issue of the de luxe edition, though it is possible that the author intended to produce another eighteen copies in this format.
