"The product of sixty years' fishing and tying experience, the fly patterns [are based on the author's ] conviction that the broken outline of a 'fuzzy' nymph (or dry fly) is critical to fish perception, and thus acceptance, of the fly. This new edition presents twenty-five fuzzy nymphs, including caddis, mayfly, stonefly, damselfly, midge and shrimp and scud patterns. Eighteen of the nymphs are represented in their full life cycles, including dry-fly patterns. A picture of each finished fly appears in the color plates".
