"...with a record of past events, tables of information and a diary for registering fish." This publication began as The Angler's Diary; or, forms for registering the fish taken during the year, to which is prefixed a list of fishing stations in England, edited by I.E.B.C. (Irwin Edward Bainbridge COX), 1866 through to 1917. In 1921 H.T. SHERINGHAM became the editor, and the title was changed to Where to Fish. The 1930 edition was edited jointly by SHERINGHAM and H.D. TURING. Turing continued as editor until 1940. This edition, no date [1928 56th edition]. Edited by H.T. Sheringham. 20 pp ads + xciv pp + 270 pp + 4pp ads + blank leaves of the Angler's Diary. Grey pictorial cloth with rounded corners. Small 8vo. This edition contains an extensive section, "A retrospect and review" from the years 1919 to 1927 inclusive. This includes lists of books published, obituaries, books of reference, lists of notable fish and angling hints and suggestions. "A review of past events was not formerly included in The Angler's Diary, but it has been thought that such a retrospect would be useful, and it is here attempted in brief outline. The choice of a date from which to begin presented some difficulty, but it seemed just and appropriate to begin with the close of the war - when men were able to resume their normal lives and take up their old interests once again." Of immense value as a reference to the literature and history of the period.
