These notes were taken from an extensively annotated copy listed by bookseller Ron Coleby in his Many of the dressings he provides are not, as far as we are aware, recorded in any other source. He alludes to the writings of Jackson, Theakston, Walbran and others, presumably he was aware too of Swarbrick and Sagar, and he foreshadowed Edmonds and Lee, while making his own distinctive and hitherto hidden contribution to a school of flytiers and flyfishers which is deservedly renowned." (R.J.W. Coleby Catalogue 17, 1990).
